Roll Bar??

Hey mm members, I have a couple of ?? about a roll cage. I was planning on putting a light bar in my vert. After talking to the wife, she would rather me get a roll bar put in. I would actually rather have one also. I found a 4 point roll bar thats not a bad price. I know a lot of you have many mods and I was wondering how hard this is to put in and will you still be able to get in the back seat. here is the roll bar I was thinking about. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks guys

It'll look good. One thing to remember is if you are going to eventually race the car that this rollbar probably is not acceptable by NHRA rules. A lot of them are purely cosmetic. Yeah, I know; the chances of your car rolling are slim to none but they stick to the rules. If you don't care about having to have a rollbar because of a convertible and a certain E/T then go for the style that you like the most. Personally I always look at roll bars in convertibles and go, "Why did that guy just build up a convertible???" I am convinced it looks nice from this shot I found with a bit of research, but I'd like to see the whole car. A 4-point is pretty mild and I see similar on Miatas (I think they're 4pt.) and they definitely look neat.

As for rear seat functionality, you could still use them although they won't be nearly as functional as before for whatever reason, assess the picture yourself and make your own conclusions about that one. I'd imagine the only difficult is the fact that you're adding a bar there and climbing into the rear with the top up may prove to be a fun little challenge. I'd say with the top up don't even bother fitting in the tiny rear seats. With the top down I hope you're passengers are only around for about 10 minutes because that just looks uncomfortable on all levels.

u wont have accessibility issues with either of those 2 bars.

U might loost some shoulder room, but the back seat is for kids anyway

Thanks for all you help guys. 96ragtop is right. I want something that still keeps my car as a daily driver still. an 85 pt may be just a bit to much lol. and thanks for the pic paymaster. I def am not going to make this a big track car. Maybe every once and a while. but most tracks only want you to have one once you hit 10 sec. I dont think the wife will let that happen. does anyone know how hard this is to install

I would like to have a nice 4 point roll bar for my coupe. I am sure it would be a major pita to install tho.

I think you might just need to bolt it in to place so it shouldnt be to bad with the right tools.

Mine will be getting a 10 point or an 8 point sometime in the next couple of years.

But i would not waste my money on a 4 point. Get a 6 point with swing out doors or even soild doors. 4 point is useless IMO>
