k member, headers???

hello again all, Just a quick question. I have a set of bbk shorty headers. Everything i read for installing them says drop k member for the long tubes. Do i really need to do this for the shorties. Plus the only reason i have the shorties is because i already have an off road h pipe w/o cats. So I thought that it would be easier to just get the shorties. With the h pipe and shorties how much of a dif would it be with the longtubes? Thanks guys

you could probably install the shorties without droping the k member but to ensure that the gaskets line up properly and you install all the header bolts it might be beneficial in the long run to just do the extra work and drop the k member. i did mine in 8 hours in a craft shop and i dropped the k member all by myself. i think that you will feel a loss of velocity with the long tubes versus the short tubes.

longtube headers create a "scavenging affect" they create better air flow out of the engine...and sound sexy as hell...

Longtubes FTW. And if i were doing shortie headers, i would personally just pull the heads bolt the shorties on, and then drop the heads back on with the headers.
