you could probably install the shorties without droping the k member but to ensure that the gaskets line up properly and you install all the header bolts it might be beneficial in the long run to just do the extra work and drop the k member. i did mine in 8 hours in a craft shop and i dropped the k member all by myself. i think that you will feel a loss of velocity with the long tubes versus the short tubes.

thanks for the info bro. Also are you saying that if i got long tubes i would have less velocity than with the short tubes?

longtube headers create a "scavenging affect" they create better air flow out of the engine...and sound sexy as hell...

Longtubes FTW. And if i were doing shortie headers, i would personally just pull the heads bolt the shorties on, and then drop the heads back on with the headers.

sounds good since i am waiting on my new p&p heads from ac and puting in cams also. Thanks guys. when i put my new heads on ill just bolt those up also.
