ur idle should stay around 600 rpms after she's warmed up.

When i cold start my car the rpms jump to 1500, then drop down to 1000 withing 10 seconds, and then from there, depending on how cold it is, my car will slowly drop down to 600.

If she stalls or seems like she's about to stall u should clean ur IAC. If that doesn't help, possibly a tune up and change the fuel filter

no...pull it off right from the throttle body. take some carbon cleaner (just something to clean the carbon build up on the inside of it) and clean it out. after you spray it let it sit a little bit and put her back on =)

i got the same problem, my dad kinda adjusted the throttle cable on the throttle body and it dropped down to about 600 rpm where it should be, but when it starts up it goes up to 1500 and then slowly dips down about 10 seconds later. I read somewhere that theres a manifold sensor that monitors pressure and regulates the air and fuel mix, and i have a crack in my manifold that i somewhat patched. but thanks for the info, when i swap manifolds, ill clean the sensors and get rid of the carbon build up.
