Exhaust time

I have a 97 Gt that i have decided to go get exhaust on it. I have a couple of questions first though...

1. Do i have to keep all 4 cats? i would like to ditch them for a offroad x pipe and some O2 sims but cant seem to find any

2. Im thinking long tube equal length, or even some pypes headers. any suggestions??

3. the big debate.. mufflers. i want some noise but i dont need loud as crap. Loudmouths are all ready out of the question

went to the track last night and ran the 1/8 mile with nothing but my 3.73 gear and turned a 9.6 at 77mph so now i decided its time to mod..

thanks as always

It depends on if you need an emisions inspection as to wether or not you need the cats. you can get a setup with 2 high flow cats instead of the 4 stock cats. the (02 sims) are called MIL Eliminators. search with that instead of 02 sims and you should be able to find plenty of them.

yeah i have to have the emissions inspections but i have a friend who does em without even looking under the car he just plugs up the computer and lets me go. So i figured i could do the MIl eliminators and be good. Just to clarify the back two cats can come off without turning on a CEL?
