03 cobra swap?

So, i've been collecting some parts for some time and was preparing to assemble a p.i. engine with forged internals, stage II heads, comp cams and a roots supercharger when the opportunity to purchase a low milage 03 cobra motor falls into my lap.

I know this cobra motor is already modded and is producing over 500 HP, Which is probly more than I would gain from my build project.

I would need to sell the supercharger I have for my project to do it along with the some of the items i've already purchased for my build up.

Has anyone done this swap into a 96-98 before? If so, how hard would it be to do? It comes with all the electronics and computer as well.

Which way would you go? Stick with the project,or scrap it and install the cobra motor?

does it come with the T56? I would personally finish your project unless the cobra swap will be cheaper at the end. I would take whichever route would be cheapest and fastest, thats just me. As far as I know it should drop right in but will be a tight fit. Theres alot of members on here that know more about this than i do im sure they will chime in.

Are you getting the full 03 engine and transmission and for how much? The 03 cobra engine will be much easier to get alot of power out of. If you are getting a good deal on it then i would go for it.

Definitely don't think... lol

If you can get your hands on a '03 cobra engine for a good price you should jump all over it like a monkey on a banana. Save your nickels and dimes for a trans, at least have your built with a hardened input shaft. The T45 will handle a fair amount of power as long as you don't bend the shift fork or break the input shaft. I would save for a TKO 500 or 600 and really have no worries.

smartpartsauto.com has great deals on rebuilt t56 transmisions. Thanks for the help guys, but I called the guy today and he has already sold the engine. (I was gonna get it if you were wondering.) Guess thats what I get for not jumping on that shit right away!!
