1500 Bucks To Spend


i have about 1500 to spend

i have a 1996 gt

any suggestions

Definitely not where I live but if you could do it yourself, you're set.

If not, I'd lower it and get a nice exhaust setup and maybe a tune. It's all where you want to start.

I'm a big fan of starting from the ground up... one topic I've never read about on this forum is brakes. Puttin additional hp into an engine is scary if you can't stop the thing you know. I'm just starting with my 96 as you are and I'm doin' suspension, brakes/tire upgrades, or maybe start with the rear end and go with 3.73s or 4.10s.

our brakes in our cobras are allready good. just throw some drilled rotors n better brake pads n they are good.

I agree our 13/12" rotors and equally good calipers kick ass - but he's got a gt and gt's are in need of help in the stopping department IMO

Yeah they are if they get high HP n TQ that is. but if hes just gonna get gears and a PIs he shouldnt need the Better set up.

look i got my motor used out of a wreckec 04 vert, it was 1100 dollars, keep all your factory things,fuel injectors,ignition,fuel system,power steering, then get a chip, but take your time and look i took my time and got a motor for 1100 that only had 24000 miles on it. just wish now i would have got the trans too,

5.0 is not in the 96...94-95 are the only SN95 that came factory 5.0's...

He has a NPI 4.6

A PI Swap and Cams would be a great addition...

well i was thinking about going with some headers and an slp exaust and mayby a upper throttle body

go 70 mm on the throttle body, no need for a 75mm. have fun on those headers........

Like C MY 4D said go with a 70mm for a N/A set-up...
