Roush CAI for our Gen Stangs?

I can't seem to find a Roush CAI for 96-98 4.6's. Do they make one? If not, I'll probably go for the K&N one. I dont know what "the best" stuff is, but I would assume you couldnt go wrong with Roush or K&N, right?

I've never heard of JLT, but its cool to see another fenderwell mounted intake. How difficult is it to get into the wheel well to install the filter though?

it's a pita to install but it makes the most power hands down and dyno proven.
you can also have it painted to match the color of your car.

ah.. nice. the pornstar of CAI's.

I'm still new to everything and anything... new. Literally. I'm a 70's and older hot rod kind of guy, and its a real different world out there for me with this 97!! I'm looking at all these different parts, but dont know whats good, or what could be next. I'm trying to not put a whole lot of money into it, but I'm a hot rod guy.. I cant resist completely

Am I retarded or is the labeling wrong on the site? Isn't RAM air the one thats in the fender?

Cold Air is usually in the fender. Ram air is usually described as in the engine bay, much like the K&N. You could even almost say the stock unit is ram air, it just has an airbox.

Don't go with BBK or MAC. May as well stay stock if you go with either of those.

I really like what I'm seeing and hearing about the JLT, and for $200, the price is nice too. Most other big name ones go for close to $250.

Time to break in the new credit card.

This is about to cause 3 more pages of "dyno-proven debate."

Which JLT is proven, but I went with the ram air since it was easier to install and as a Cobra owner you don't have to give up the strut tower bar if you don't want to. That and removing a CAI everytime I want to work under the motor sucked.

Still it stands as this:

JLT > Highest power gains
A good ram air setup > Almost identical, couple less HP

I think people will debate an x-pipe is better than an h-pipe for 1HP even though h-pipe sound nicer.

Also, Roush does make lower control arms for our cars. I love mine.

If your ride has only 21k miles I would probably either hold off on mods or keep the original pieces to put back on when you sell it. Your car is rare for the mileage. just my 2 cents

I never planned on throwing anything away, I'm going to keep all the original stuff that I might change out. except maybe the exhaust.. I have no where to keep an entire set of dual pipes at my house.

They wanted to sell my car for $12k at the dealership before I bought it.. (which I didnt pay that price tho, employee price rocks!) I could turn around and sell it for more than I paid, but I seem to enjoy the Mustang a little more than that

Yea, well i'd keep it for a while, but if you are going to do that, make it something that you really enjoy driving!

Def. get a JLT, i have a BBK and its alright, but doesn't seem to make a difference in power.

I'm definitely going JLT, but I just have to decide which. with the minimal difference in horse power, it comes down to... how hard is it to get into the fender to mount that part?

I dont want to mod the Mustang too much, mainly for financial reasons, but exhaust and wheels would be nice. as well as some minor stuff like pedals and white gauges.
