PI Intake Swap Cost

I have the intake and the heads and cams. I just want to put in the cams and intake for now. And down the road I might port the heads or do some sort of conversion. But, I want to know. How much is that stupid Heater Tube and Gaskets for the Intake swap cost. Its like $90 for the tube and almost $30 a gasket. That is more than I spent on the intake. Does this sound right?

take 5/8ths heater hose (3ft) and some clamps and it will be fine, will cost about 10-15 bucks, and 30 for the gaskets is right

I have heard there may be an issue with the heater hose bursting. I don't want to half ass it, cause its expensive. $150 is not the end of the world, I just don't want to spend it if its not really necessary and i'm just getting taken advantage of by Ford, as they do that from time to time.

Just remember that ford had to make the coolant passage aluminum instead of plastic because it cracked. How much better would a rubber coolant hose work? Your decision.

are you assuming the coolant hose is gunna crack? the intake cracks from pressure if i recall, what kind of pressure is some heater hose gunna go thru causing it to crack? have u ever hit heater hose with a hammer? and then tried hitting a stock plastic intake with a hammer? the intake obviously shows no comparison to heater hose

Well i was a firm believer of never using the heater hose...

But im going to have to put heater hose in my Crown Vic motor because the block is slighltly different.

look where that heater hose connects. it connects to the water pump. you dont think there might be some sort of pressure coming from the water pump? come on now.

Well as much as i would like to agree Uncle, but the water pump actually sucks right there, not push water...

But if i had the option which i actually do, i figured it out how to get the coolant tube to work on this crown vic motor, i would go ford parts. In a rush i could see heater hose working too...

Ive had a heater hose bust on me before.. but i put another one there and is working fine. I think its just a matter of how old or new it can be. I think it will be fine for you to use.
