Who makes he Biggest Cams for a 4.6.?

Biggest cam is is a question of definition. You talkin Lobe height? or duration? or most extreme? There are alot of cam's out there. I've heard of cam's up to .7" of lobe height, on a really modified head. But that is the only one I've ever heard of. The highest I've seen made by Comp or Crower I believe is .575 Around that atleast is the biggest you will get that is mass produced.

m talking the biggest off the shelf 4.6 cams With the specs on the box. just curious to what that might be i do not know if i will need a custon grind or not just trying to get some ideas together
Im still doing the 5.4 but i was under the impression that they do not sell after market cams for them like they sell for the 4.6s

Bone stock 5.4 Other then bolt on's What do you guys think would be a good cam to run ? .575 i did not think they made mod cams with that much lift.

Not always true, you have to calculate for usable rpm, static compression ratio, ect. You will need to be very specific on the combo you plan to run to get anything other than hear say. Most of the "BIG CAMS" require higher compression to even begin to be useful. AC or myself would be able to give you better direction knowing more about what you plan to run.

not true. I have a set of custom grinds from MPH, the sound kinda mellow but make great power. LMK if you want a sound clip.

What Boomer and AC are saying is that Bigger is not always better for cams. Cams are just what make your air pump(engine) run a certain way. A cam designed specifically for your set up will make more power than any other option. And if you have a mild set up compression and rpm wise, a big cam might not even get into its efficiency zone with your set up. You want a cam that matches your build. A mild build needs a mild cam. A nutz build will need a nutz cam.

Also, to answer your question, Crower makes the biggest lift cams available off the shelf. They also make shit for power as far as I have seen on NA motors. I know of one blower motor with Crower cams that makes awesome power, but that car spends more time being worked on than anything. The problem with Crower is that they use a rediculous lift (.620" on a few grinds), medium duration and slow ramp rates. Most 2V heads don't pick up much air flow over .525" lift and without an aggressive ramp rate, and the cams are not staying near peak lift long anyway. There is more to camshaft profiling than slapping a huge lift/duration on a billet and making power........

No no im not saying Big Cams Big Power .
Im trying to say i want to make the most out of the cam as i can and i want big cams not big big like somthing that sounds like a pro street car and makes no power. i have had cammed cars and learned big cams are not always the best.but im am still kinda new to the cam world with modular motors. Basicaly its going to be a Stock 02 5.4 290ish hp 330ish /with Bolt On's. I wanted to get the best cam to make the best power.
