i was just wondering if my 98 gt has the windsor or romeo engine thanks

tomy belief...id say windsor....romeo came along later i believe like mid 01. check valve cover # of bolts.

you got that backwards man its romeo until like late 99 when the romeo factory had a fire and then it was switched to windsor for a while check your numbers for r or w i think

Romeo engines have 11 valve cover bolts

11 bolts it is....which is the better of the engines romeo or windsor??

96-98 were all Romeos. 99.9% of all 99's are Windsors. the .1 exception would be a factory fluke I can not explain. The NPI motors where all re-routed to go in the Crown Vics till 01.

99-mid 01 are Windsors, 02-04 are all Romeos.

Only real difference in the 98's is it's a Returnless fuel system (like the 99+ new edge), and the radiator and cooling fan where redesigned.
