its a little bit of a pain in the ass to redo a spark plug, sometimes it can be a little pain, sometimes it grows into a huge problem. theres really not all that much done to the car to make it all that much faster. id offer him 4500Kto maybe 7K if its in PRISTINE conditon, no more then 7 and as low as you can get.

thanks for the reply, how much do you think a shop would charge to fix the spark plug?

If that car is in like new condition, it would be in the $7k-8k range, but offer around $6k and work your deal from there. I'd probably take the car to the shop to have that spark plugs looked at and replaced. Just be sure he didn't strip the threads on the head where the spark plugs screw in to, or that he didn't break anything else in that area either. Then while the shop looks it over it would be easy enough to have them replace it. No idea on cost, call a local shop and they'll quote you I'm sure.

Wow you guys are generous. I wouldnt offer no more than 5 for this car.

You have some options for the sparkplug. The heads are aluminum. So you can either:
1. Remove head and give to machine shop and they will fill in the hole and retap it.
2. Bring to a shop and they can replace head with reman head. Or i bet you could do a PI swap
3. Use a Helicoil kit to rethread the hole.

4.6/5.4/6.8's do it alot. Unsure of the cost because i work at a dealership and never get to see the final bill for anything.

Looks like a few mods, but nothing serious.

I sold my 98 GT with all bolt ons, Edelbrock nitrous kit, M/T Dr's and 5speed with 60k miles for 7k.

Heli-coil's are very easy to install...... I would not let a stripped thread get in my way.... But I have to agree with the whole 5k Price range

helicoil will be the quick cheap fix. but I dont trust them. I have seen them work fine. And I have seen them last a week and the compression blow the helicoil out. Then there really is not much fix except fix the problem or replace the head.
