yeah minor. spun up into someones yard and got into a fire hydrant. slicks and rain dont mix at all. it wasnt raining when i took off to go home and started about 3 miles away from the gf house so turned around. when i was going about 15 mph, there was a slight turn and as soon as i turned the rearend shot out hard. i was givin it hell trying to get it back but slicks wouldnt even try to get traction. anyways its allr eayd fixed and ya cant even tell anything hapened to it

thats good, but ill tell you what i would much rather spin in the rain than in the snow....i got 18 inches here....OMG, my stang didnt move for two days...i almost died on my way home last night, i was leavin a buddies house and i stopped at the stop sign and let a truck go by i looked there was nothing there and so i went to go spun a little bit...and noticed some lowered ricer that i couldnt see over the snow banks..so i nailed the gas and threw the rear end around into the other lane and my nose was still in that cars lane...i thought i was gonna die....but i corected it and it turned out to be a cool story lol

well its not gonna hurt the tires much if any..but i wouldn't recommend doing it a whole lot reason being is because the modular motors are known for how fast they rev. and with they you have the motor doing alot of free revving and that could cause problems in the bottom end

Mr. 11 post in one day without a bit of tech. your research shows what?
I launched my stock 96 shortblock off the 2 step at 5500 rpm for three years with no failure over 100 times, that is free reving right? Not to mention every 6600 rpm thru the traps on each pass, 325 rwhp 10.45:1 stock shortblock with ported P.I heads and a LITTLE bit of bolt ons..
Care to explain about the problems in the bottom a bit for us ?

yes i have a friend that had his cobra for about a year and half and launching and making passes. the same as you with about 7200 rpm, with more power than what your saying you had. and yes with free reving the motor causes it to rev alot faster, leading to more chances to over rev etc. i'm not saying that. do 5 burnouts in the rain and boom goes the car. that never came outta my mouth. but it does lead to problems. with free reving as compared to a motor at 6600 under a load. and no launching a car is not free reving....free reving what i meant by the was the motor turning rpm's more freely than they would with the full weight the car holding down the suspension

So my 2 step is not free reving ? The comparison of a 4v to a 2v is apples to oranges, however my little 2v made a few nasty 7000 rpm blasts and luckily lived. The original poster was not likely to see much over 6100 rpm for a breif moment...

yes but with a 2 stage did it not stop the rpm's at some point until the car was launched now unless your 2 step is set to 6000 then its not the same because typically when people do a burn out, or launch the car they dont let off unless they are feathering the gas which in this case if someone is asking about spinning in the rain. they may want to know that information

Doing a burnout is not free reving, there is a load on the engine. I know from 15 years of drag racing that you do not do a burnout in first, 2nd gear is the way to go, less rpm more tire speed to heat the tires. Now launching off the 2 step, I have had to hold it for long periods while fart around playing the stagging game and that would most likely be longer than most poeple would ever free rev their stock shortblock. Thats drag racing it happens.
