That is just the kind of info i was wanting to find. thanks!! I was thinking about that but this is my first manual car, so I'm not too familiar with it yet.

it doesn't get annoying, u just need to relearn the shift points of the car.....

personally, i rev the gears out a little higher and skip 1-3-5

Everyone thinks that installing 410 gears will make a car 1 full second faster than a car with 373 gears, this is not true. Ive run lots of different gear ratios,488,456,410,373,355,the best quarter mile times were seen with 373 or 355.
If you want killer take off ,go with 488,456,410, those gears bring your engines SWEET SPOT in quicker, but runs out faster. 373,355 lets you stay in a lower gear(with a 5 speed) longer, and gives you more top end.

Ive been asked that same question,(what is better 410 or 373) well I say 373 is a better all around gear for strip, street, highway. Why,let me break it down,
ON a stock 96 to 98 Mustang, the POWER BAND comes in at 2000 rpm and is out of power at 4500,the engine will rev a lot higher, but makes no more power at 5000 or 6000 RPM ,so the 373 gear will give you 500 to 800 RPM more over the 410 gear, and that little bit could mean the difference in winning vs loosing.
This doesnt mean the 373 wil be faster than a 410,it just means you will have a little more power left at the end of the quarter mile vs a 410 gear.

Good choice for an auto,410. Your car will still hit around 130 mph.

3.73= stick, 4.10=auto(if u have stick 3.73 cuz that will give u a little first gear 4.10 or bust if u have autp(if stick about 1 sec in 1st and that it

cool thanks. i have hit 133 or 143 idk didn't want to keep eyes off the road to long. But i was racin an old vette and I won! But ya i need some what of a top speep for speed racing. and i am buliding my car for a 10. even a 10.99 ill be happy. or 550RWHP i'll be happy too. which even comes first. SO i think 4:10's are what i am going with.
