blow off valve question

this may be dumb but is it possible to put a blow off valve on a supercharged engine, i don't know how the built up pressure escapes like how in a turbo the excess goes through the waste gate and b.o.v., so i was wondering if this can be done or if it would help performance or what not aslo could you explain the air flow of a supercharger how it escapes and doesn't explode because of pressure built up, thanks

my vortech has a blowoff valve and it vents back into the pipe between the s/c and mass airflow sensor .if it didnt it would screw up your masf signal and make your car run verry rich.I know because my hose popped off.

it depends which sc you go with. if you do procharger you can vent the air into the atmosphere because they are a blow through setup ( the mas is after the blower), therefore the blown off air is unmetered and wont effect anything. vortech uses a bypass valve which just reroutes the air back into the inlet rather than blowing it outside.
