I wish you well with the hurricane.

I had a problem with the intake manifold leaking coolant at the heater hose neck. At first it was just leaking enough that it wld get the wires wet, & started acting like what you have explained, but really started pouring the next day. Which made it easy to find

alright im a tech at a ford dealership i see this problem alot the 2 main things that make this problem is for 1 is a weak injector alot of times you wont notice it even data loggin you should ohm each individual injector and make sure the specs are right second weak coil packs can do this and it doesnt mean the coil packs are bad you could have a corroded wire running them i would check the wiring to them and make sure every thing is in tip top shape. i would also gap the plugs down to 50. i know ford recommends 52 to 54 but 50 to 52 is usually where the 4.6 will make the most horsepower i wouldnt do a compression test for the simple fact of even worn ring shouldnt give you a miss youll just lack tourqe. i would definatally fix any noticable oil leaks intake manifold valve cover ect. before i did n e thing if your getting oil composites that meens somethings leaking and your not going to get an accurate diag if this porblem continues. after all said and done if none of that works id say you probably have a vacuum leak so do a vacuum test and see where your at. hope this helps.

Oh well, no tree on the car....just got our power back, what a pain in the ass week.

Thanks for all the help guys, preciate it. I think I'll work on getting the oil leak fixed first, although my plugs have been dry after changing the oil a month ago...

Don't know if this would help at all. When my car was missing the shop put it a scope and found # 7 missing. There was corrosion on the wire , but they said it was more like an airflow problem. I installed re installed the stock air box with the screen in the maf and so far things are ok.

Well, I cleaned out the TB with a little bit of improvement, so I figured add more carb cleaner for perfection....after 3/4 of a can sprayed in and some silicone spray on afterwards, the problem is gone! Immediately after solving it, like 13 miles later, it started running really rough, ie constant miss...long story short, one of my wires went bad and luckily were under warranty, so now have new wires and car is running 100% (for now) for the first time in months!

Thanks for the help, now on to the gears...
