poly front control arm bushings?

My ball joint ( driver's side) is bad so I ordered the steeda x2 ball joints for it, along with the bump steer kit and the offset rack bushings.( AM discount always helpfull) My plan was to remove the arms, paint them black take em' to a shop to have the old ball joints pressed out and the new ones pressed in , reinstall them and install the bumpsteer kit and steering rack bushings.

I figured I might as well replace the rubber control arm bushings with energy suspension poly urethane red bushings while i'm in there.

BUT the guy at the shop says "EVERYONE who installs them says they hate them and wish they never did it." He says the handling is better but the ride is way rougher.

Right now it's my DD, but in about a month it's not gonna be because i'll be installing my project motor and then it's gonna be my weekends and " holy shit, i over slept and have got like ten minutes to get to work!!" car.

Has anyone installed these and found this to be true? Is the gain worth the ride?
