PI Swap

I would like to do a full pi swap but just can't get that much money saved, one reason im still in school and only 18. So i was thinking about just getting a set of pi cams and a pi intake, it will be almost half of what it would cost me to do a full swap plus labor. So one of my buddies just did the cams and intake also and runs just like a 99-04. Would it be worth doing this swap. Thanks guys.

Definately worth it to do just the PI cams and Intake if you can't afford or are able to do the fullswap. I got ~ 22 rwhp with the combo according to the dyno. My stang feels and pulls so much better and higher in the rpm range. The pi cams/intake and the catted X are my two fav mods.

Will a set of stage II comp cams help instead of the pi cams. And will it add power even though its on a npi head.

Yea i was goin to do the whole swap but after seeing the prices its a little out of my range. So i was just goin to put stage II cams in and a intake swap. Will the stage II cams give me more power then the pi cams.

Yeah, the swap is worth it, I had the Comp XE274's, in both my NPI and PI heads. With the swap, the car now runs a little over a second quicker in the quarter, and has a lot more low to mid rpm driveability, both motors were at 9.1 compression. +1 on the Junkyard, look for a 4.6 out of a 99-current crown vic, 99-04 mustang, 99-02 f-150, or a 5.4 out of a 99-02 superduty. If your just after the heads, a "builder" motor is all you need, we've found them for $300 or less, and sometimes free.
