damn that does seem like a sweet deal, this seems like a better alternative to even just a pi intake swap or pi swap, but is it?

It's actualy rated to add 80hp.

If you picked up some used npi heads cheap (do they come any other way?) and had some good P&P work done and used an aftermarket blower cam I think you could get a real good setup for pretty damn cheap.

I meant getting used heads so you could have the work done without having to give up your ride while you wait. It would basicaly be the same work as a P.I.swap.

300rwhp out of stock npi build is kinda tough from what i've been heard, (least as far as bang for the buck goes)

Back when I first got my mustang every shop i took it too always said "first u need heads and cams"

Course I always got frusterated and instead spent massive money on looks instead.

a vortech on a NPI stock motor will only had 80rwhp to the motor at 12 lbs of boost, that thing will be lucky to make 9 and there's no way in hell it's nearly efficient as any other name brand blower.

the saleen superchargers on the PI gt's only added 60 ENGINE horsepower, so what makes u guys think that on a weaker motor it's going to add atleast 20 more horsepower then the saleen did with an extra 45 horsepower to work with? What makes this thing better? NOTHING.

theres a reason y it's dirt cheap. I mean, if you goal is to spend 2 grand blowing ur car and be maxed out the boost at under 300rwhp then be my guesst....

i call bs on that unless u went to someone who "sold" u those numbers or u had a modded motor.

u basically just said that that blower added 115rwhp to ur car.... which is more then half the power the car came with stock. NOT POSSIBLE unless u were either PI, Full bolt on, or intercooled.

Call BS if you like .... it's the truth, and been so for 10yrs. Should do your research ... the numbers are not alarming nor are they fantastic.
It's really old news from a little blower long forgotten.

As mentioned on a NPI motor and exhaust @9lbs 315-300rwhp is as good as it gets. I've been running the SVO/ROUSH non-intercooled set-up with Flowmasters ... 300rwhp and 335rwtrq. All on the FRPP/SVO tune.

Actually the numbers are just barely higher than the avg. In 1998 many SOHC guys didn't run the roots style in preference to the Vortech set-up, that later became aftercooled or intercooled with Paxton front mount unit. I've run it and had fun with it for years. No issues. Good torque and the units can be had for cheap nowadays .... great unit if you're not blinded by big numbers and want OEM stock reliability.

Example from ROUSH. - 1998 Roush S3 - MM&FF - October 1998

The ROUSH also used FRPP shorty headers. my car is a Stage 2 and I wanted to add the blower since ROUSH was showcasing it. ...... at least for that year, before it was scrapped.

My mods as they relate ... ROUSH CAI, Timing Adjuster (set to 1 degree over stock) and the Flowmasters.

And yes .... my car pulled consistently better numbers than the supercharged S281s of the era. Again, old news.........

Dude, a stock saleen came with 265hp, a supercharged saleen came with 375.

I think you should sue your grade school math teacher because thats a 110 hp difference the way I was taught to do subtraction.

don't be a wise ass, i think u should sue ur math teacher because my math still makes sense with the numbers i was using.

i was misinformed of the output of the saleens....

the point i was trying to make is that there's no way that blower on a NPI car is going to be making more then 50% more power then she was making NA. He's claiming he made 115 more rwhp on a stock car that only puts down 185....
