P&P'd PI Patriot Heads

So my girl friends dad offered to sell me his port and polished pi heads that he had in his garage from his old GT for 100 bucks. They only have 1500 miles on them, and are in great condition. As most of you know, mustangmatt is not a big fan of them (and by not a big fan i mean he fucking hates them) and my engine already has 150+ thousand miles on it.

Would it be at all worth it to chance putting these heads on my car? Or should i save up, build another engine and put them on, or just sell the heads?

Thanks

They have been saying that for years. Other than the casting flaws they have horrible machining tolerances and use cheaper parts than others. I have worked on several sets of their heads and found .250" difference in guide lengths, their valves jobs look like they were performed by a kid. The numbers they quote to have are far less than what they actually flow. My .02, 1 of 25 sets may be decent. I can say, unlike some people, I have owned a set. Mine lasted less than 500 miles before the guides went and a seat dropped, a $4500 short block was destroyed, I had a valve gouge a big bore sleeve beyond repair.

I have installed and used several pairs of Patriot heads with zero issues so far. They make great power for the money. There are definitely better choices out there, but not in the Patriot price range.
