Valve Knock
I was passing a tractor yesterday and as i was doing that i started to hear a knocking noise. So i drove home and can clearly tell that there is a knock under the right valve cover. We will probly pull the valve cover next week to check it, as of right now i am still driving the car because its my DD. It does not smoke anything. I am thinking its either the cam is damaged or a valve is bent. IF the cam is just dammaged and needs to replaced, would it be worth swapping in a PI cams even if i dont have any other PI stuff, or would the cams alone not make enough extra hp to even be worth it. If it is the valve train and the head needs to be pulled, how much extra effort would it be to put on PI heads? they should be direct bolt on correct? THe car has 121,000. THanks.

Hey I have the same problem! But I have XE270AH Comp Cams, intake manifold, PI Windsor heads, etc. all lying around haha. I've just been too lazy to get to them. Guess I have a reason to do that now!

the cams are worth about 10rwhp without the intake. It's worth it if u need to pull one side apart anyway.
Cost me under $200 including parts and lube when i swapped mine |

When you say this, what does that mean? $200 to just do cams? Or is that intake too?
