96-98 cobra

I've always had a man crush on these things. If i can, i want to pick one of these things up. Is there anything bad about these things i need to be aware of? Are these worth the extra few thousand it will take to get one over a gt?

96's had cooling problems. I'd get a 98 solely because of the hood change

96-98 all had hood snorkles. 96 need new radiators and thermostats and will be good. With bolt-on's you can almost get 300 rwhp. GREAT motors, and run strong even at 150,000. The trannys suck in all of them, but they are gettin harder to find, which makes them extra specail. they are great cars man. you wont be dissapointed.

my buddy has a 98 cobra with tremec and full exhuast and it runs 13.9s

Is that it? I'd hope to be able to get one faster than that for not much money. I'm already at around 8.5's (1/8) right now.

u drive the shit out of the car in stock form with her in good running condition u can pul a 13.7/8 but mind u your gonna be powershifting the 1-2-3

Gears/Intake/Exhaust with suspenion will put u in the high 12's

It's worth it

its not hard to get power out of these motors. I run 8.80's in 1/8 and thats a little 255 street tire.

i used to feel that same way, then i realized I'd just be putting miles on her at this point in my life and if i get a cobra i want her to be prestine and only drivin on the weekends/when someone needs 5.pwning

thats a very good point rags. Hell, my stang has 158k at this point, and is running strong, and all the mods on it are stuff that i get for super cheap lol

my stang has half the miles on her then urs, and i mod her with used parts for cheap as well.... thats one of the awesome things about the 2v over the 4v is that there are 10x the amount of parts out there
