Cool

oil on top of driverside valve cover

ok i recently changed my 6lb pully to 11lbs, not sure if this has anything to do w/my problem. so the other day i got on the pedal pretty hard and herd a high-piched whine(i was sure that it was the supercharger), so i desided to look under the hood when i got home. i found a small amount of oil on top of 1 of the valve covers on the 2nd bolt indent from the back(fire wall). so i was just wondering if this could be caused from the added boost or am i over analizing the need for a new valve cover gasket. what do you think?

sounds like it could be blow by from the added boost. Do you have a catch can?

Cool

no, to be honest i have never heard of it. what does it do and where does it go?
i tried to see where the oil is comming from but i see no trace anywhere except near the bolt on the valve cover where the oil is. i was thinking that either the bolt is loose or i need a new gasket. the 1 thing that i dont understand is, is there that much pressure under the valve cover that it would leak at the top of the cover?
