B&M pro stick on 4R70W?
can this be done if so how? i have a 94 4R70W trans behind a 4V 4.6 in my car and i would like to get rid of the shitty stock shifter thats in the car. right now it just has a shift kit in it but in the future i would like to put in a full manual valve body i would be used to the shifter a and shifting the car my self before i HAVE to shift it my self with the valve body so can this shifter be used with the "stock" trans? if i install this shifter i think the MLPS has to be removed and im just wondering if that is removed if the converter will still lock up? if it wont im pretty sure i can put the lock up on a switch inside the car because a 3600 stall and 3.73 gears with no lock up would suck on the high way and would make the temps skyrocket in town with anything less than converting my A/C condenser into a trans cooler.
from what i have found so far i just need the 4 speed gate plate for the shifter and the AOD install kit right? or is there more that i must to to the car in order to install a after market shifter? |

just get the b&m hammer shifter thats made for the consol/etc. & shift away

still the same issue it still needs the AOD install kit the only difference in that and the one i have is basically the shift pattern.

no it doesn't they make one that is made for o/d's & mustang consols.

oh ok i see now i thought the only diffrence in the stang hammer and the std hammer was maybe the way it mounts. it says that it works with the stock stang shift cable but i dont have one of those. all i have is the stock lincoln cable as this shifter is going in a lincoln Mark VIII. yes i know i should post this on the lincoln forum but all those guys dont know all they say is to leave it stock. i hate stock stock is borring i like to see the look of peoples faces when i walk by their stangs in my nice lux-o-barge of a lincoln. not dissing the stangs here just saying i have walked down quite a few in my day.

you didnt say it was going in a lincoln but I'd still take a look cause your shifter looks kinda like a mustangs who knows it might be close enough to work anyway
