Best overall cams for a nPI head
So i decided that i don't want to put on PI heads, i don't want to raise the compression ratio much with the high mileage my car has, so im going to keep the stock nPI heads on my car. What are the best cams that I can run with my heads?
Im considering getting PI cams, but not sure if its worth the work for the amount of power. Is there anything thats not too expensive that will give me more gains then stock PI cams without too much work? Thanks

yeah, ive looked for cams for my non pi and they all cost like 40-500, so for as cheap as PI cams are, i might consider pickin up a set too for the easy hp, and if they're degreed right its even better

crower makes NPi cams im pretty sure. why dont you talk to your buddy matt about this. im sure he could give you a better answer. but i still say PI cams. very cheap and very easy for the gains you get.

PI cams and intake are a great gain over the NPI stuff.
I'm rocking NPI heads still too, fully ported and crower stage 2 npi blower cams, and Livernois PI intake. If you do go with aftermarket cams, stage 2 will require valve springs too. S trim/methanol, on 14psi, I made 515rwhp/475rwtq. NPI's have the same potential once they're worked as ported PI's. Just added an 8 rib, and 7.5" crank, it makes 17-18psi now. Joe at Trick tuners and I are dialing it in now, and hopefully will put out 600rwhp or close. |

Do you have to change the timing or gears for the cams when changing them?
