The most important tips when installing a new intake manifold

I just bought a new intake manifold. Its a stock replacement with aluminum crossover. I have a haynes repair manual and I read the guide in the sticky for swapping manifolds, but can anyone offer tips or important things they learned from first hand experience, so i dont have to learn the hard way.

its very straight forward. make sure you get the tool to disconnect the fuel lines. other than that, the manual will help a ton... good luck

I just did mine last weekend. Make sure that you remember where your manifold bolts go. I made the mistake of putting the wrong bolt in the hole closest to the firewall. When I put my antifreeze back in, it leaked out the back of the manifold. Come to find out I put the bolt that goes by the coolant crossover in the last hole on the driver's side. That bolt is slightly longer than the other manifold bolts so it did not tighten the manifold down all the way. So I swapped them and the leak stopped. Also it is a good idea to get new fuel injector O-rings. You will need a total of 16 one for the top and one for the bottom. Good luck!
