Lots of PI swap questions
So, im getting serious about my PI swap, and I have some questions: I plan on using Ford Racing heads, would the gains be worth it to pay $799.95 for a Trick Flow Track Heat intake manifold as opposed to $219.95 for a stock replacement intake? Also, what would be better, 70mm or 75mm throttle body on a PI swap, bolt-on '98 GT? And when i buy the throttle body do i need to buy the plenum to assist? Would it be worth it to P&P the stock heads if I can scrape the money? I do not plan on adding cams (at least not right now), is it even worth it?

keep the stock npi heads and port and polish them and throw some nice cams in them. and yes it is definitely worth it. go with the 70mm throttle body unless u plan on boosting the engine any time soon, in which case i would recommend the 75. go ahead and by the plenum. accufab is the best brand for both tb and plenum. as for the intake, im not too familiar with the trick flow model u are referring to so i cant really hellp u out there but i cant imagine it being that much of an improvement over a standard pi intake.

he said it best man P&P and throw in a new cam. I would go ahead and by the trickflow since your going to get a intake anyways.

My experience with the PI headswap was awesome. It's so much cheaper to do it now than it was in 2001 when mine was done that I can't think of a good reason why not to use PI heads. If you've got time on your side and are patient I'm sure you can find a set of PI heads at a bargain. Otherwise I think the comments here are sound. I would also recommend getting subframe connectors before you get much farther with the power, you'll be amazed at how much better your car behaves.

there is nothing wrong with keepeing th npi heads. u dont gain enough hp from pi heads to justify the cost. plus u have the dificulty of having to deal with extra compression which isnt too good if u ever plan on boosting that engine. just save the cost of the new heads and use it to port and polish the npi heads and buy some really nice cams for them and ur set

Ok, honestly im liking P&P the stock heads and nice cam. More realistic build for my situation. Now can someone direct me to 'really nice cams'?
