Longtube debate

I currently have an off-road X pipe that is hooked up to stock manifolds. I really dont want to replace the X pipe that is on there now, but i know i will have to if I go to longtube headers. How much more hp will I get from a longtube set-up with the X-pipe that I will need to make it work as opposed to short-tube headers with the X-pipe that I have now?

You will make More HP hands down with LT's, If i were you i would buy the Lt's and sell your Mid pipe to buy the Mid pipe for the Longtubes. But i dont know if you are going to want the 8-10 hour aggravation of installing LT's Alot of people like to drop the K member when doing so.

your not gonna see a huge increase with shorties. I was in the same debate my self, and i decided to go with some mac long tubes ( only casue im an auto) and im gonna just cut down my current x-pipe to fit the new long tubes. For the install hassle that your gonna go thorugh your better off with long tubes. just my .02 censt

A quality set of shorties is going to be pretty close to the cost of a set of MAC LT's and the gains from them are going to be a good 20% less hp than LT's and about 50% of the torque gains you would gain from LT's. The bottom line is, doing anything on the manifolds is a HUGE pain, but if you are going to take it appart. Do it so you never have to do it again. Just get the LT's.

mod motors react better to LT's than they do to shorties. that's just how it is.

on the 75 shot, i would say you could get 15-20 HP out of it.

definately long tubes
and you dont have to replace your crossover
just make sure when you get things cut, that you can still take it off the Lt's

yeah you will not have to cut the long tubes but you will have to modify the x-pipe to fit the long tubes
