depends on how its driven. they can hold quiet a bit before blowing.

cool im jw because i get my car back tomorrow put a d1sc at 9psi im gona be there for the tune and dont know if i should tell them to dumb it down a bit what you think i could safely bring to the rear? they told me they put a non-intercooled vortec on some dudes 4.6 with stock internals and hes been running 450 to the wheels for like 4 years... but that sounds like a time bomb to me

ac ran 600+ for a long while. if you drive it incorrectly, then it wont last long. you can drive it hard, but you have to drive it right.

depends on tune. usually a set up will run out of power by that rpm.

The T3650 is rated for 360 LB/FT of torque, and HP is not listed. The general consensus for the 4.6 block in stock form is 400rwhp. This is obviously a subjective number as to what Sweet said above. I think that this amount is a nice round number and fewer cars have had issues at this HP.
To get into the psychology of it a bit, I would state the following. I think that someone setting his/her limit at ???rwhp, is a mind thing anyway. I cannot tell you how many thread titles saying... "How do I get to 400HP?" or "I want to be at 550HP". No doubt that higher HP will give more extreme performance, but I believe this is mostly bragging rights. Nearly ALL threads/posts that I have read on the above subject are just wanting to be "higher HP than my buddy/neighbor/richard-head as school". After all, a very good driver with a 400HP car can beat another 500HP car of the same make by a lesser skilled driver. In general I am a little bias anyway, I couldn't care less about high HP, just give me some bends in the road ![]() Jazzer The Kitty ![]() PS: I recommend swapping that T3650 for a T-56 for a MUCH better gear ratio as well as much higher torque rating. I will have my 1260 tomorrow and new alum. DS next week

Ive been beating on mine for a few years now with over 400 hp/tq. The weak link is the syncros in these trannys, but they can go out on a stock engine too. Just kinda hit or miss, and how you you drive.

those cams did a lot.. i'm running 10psi and almost 100hp less than you. although it was on a mustang dyno with a very conservative tune.. so technically i can see those cams giving you 60-70 rwhp over stock cams with that blower. awesome man

volumetric efficientcy. VE of a cylinder head will help make great power and make a motor withstand more longer as well.
