installin cams, how do i get these valve covers off!?

alright so i'm putting in a set of COMP stage 1s this morning and i've finally managed to get the passengerside valve cover off and i'll start with the cam in a few minutes.

but for the life of me i CAN NOT get the driverside off!! any tips as to how to get the driverside off? i've been yanking on it and coming at it from all directions for the last 2 hours and it will not budge . I can get the entire thing off but one last corner is still wedged in there and not even close to coming out!! help!! lol

Try tapping it with a rubber mallot on the sides. If that doesnt work then I dont know, bite your lip and give it hell until it comes off.

hey if you got the $$ to back it up by saving it on labor, then IMO thats the best way to learn. hands on.

dude not being an ass just winging it without a vavle spring compressor and knowing how to degree the cams you are going to bend your valves, trust me on this one, i have seen it done many times. your going to have to make sure your when you put the rockers back on you don't mash your valves. its your car i just hope you don't have to spend more money replacing valves and then the labor on top of that to reinstall the cams

IMO if he wants to try and do it his self and maybe learn something in the process and knows that there's the possiblity of having to get someone to fix it,then let him do it.

if someones drowning you don't tell'em "you shoulda learned to swim before you jumped in" you help'em out.

just MHO

Im jsut trying to keep you from destroying your motor...But hey its your motor not mine...

but anyways try putting a jack under the motor and lossening the motor mounts and letting the motor drop down a bit...

That should help out alot...

hmm...

the cam bolt is off, the cam chain tool is in holding the timing chain in place, the sprocket has been slid off the camshaft.. as you can see the cam is completely exposed, it looks like its just sitting there.. but it wont budge. it can't be that hard? what else is holding me back? hmm
