Procharger Supercharger Systems?

Alright. So I don't know jack squat about Super Charging systems however I Do want a signifigant increase in power for the money and I hear this is a whole lot smarter. This would be going on a stock 2000 GT mind you (For bearing of the example).

'99-04 GT 4.6L P-1SC, 8 PSI 2 Core

or the

'99-04 GT, P-1SC Stage II, 8-12 PSI 3 Core

My primary question be, how would they perform on my stock and would they murder the car? It just sounds like adding all the power they claim to add to complete stock might cause some faultiness. But hey, maybe it can handle it, I don't know. But I am considering the power add real shorty. Any suggestions?

8PSI will be fine for your stock internals. with a good tune 370-400 at the wheels won't be an unrealisitic number. itll really wake your car up you'll love it.

it depends on how many miles are on the car. but i would go with the stage 2 @ 10psi

i put mine on with about 30k on the odometer, got a custom dyno tune and was putting down 429rwhp with stock exhaust manifolds and a 2 1/2in h-pipe. then i got the SLP headers and x-pipe and never dynoed it after that so i'm guessing i had right at 450rwhp with no probs at all. i'm not saying you will never have problems but mine never did,but i hardly drove like i stole it anyway. just when i had to. lol

the tune is really whats gonna determine your engine life and streetability.

Buy the stage 2 kit it will leave room to grow if you wish. you can run 8 psi and if you choose to go up I think you can actually run up to 16-18 psi with the stage 2.

Alright. So if I threw it on stock it'd be cool?

My next question would be, what would I be looking at installation wise? I know a decently experienced tech who'd do it for next to nothing I think, but if I went to a regular respected place? Is installation hard on this unit or nah?

Also, DynoTune will cost me... ?

* Stage II Intercooled TUNER Kit with P-1SC 10 psi (optional 12+ psi pulley also available)
* P-1SC, (8 rib) Custom 3-core spicific air-to-air intercooler
* Our Tuner Kit ALSO Includes:
1. DiabloSport -or- SCT Programmer
2. (8) Ford Racing 42-lb Fuel Injectors
3. (8) NGK V-power Spark Plugs
4. (1) Ford Racing Supercar 255 ltr. Fuel Pump

easy to install. save the money and do it yourself. as for the tune it could cost anywhere from 400-800. but a good tune is whats gonna make the difference on your car

The ProCharger system you choose will make a HUGE difference in performance. If you have high mileage, it woould be a safe idea to limit boost to 8 psig. Also, unless you are planning on a forged bottom end, upgrading the trans, suspension, and rear (differential, gears, and axles), it would be a waste to get the D1SC. The P1SC will suport around 825 HP (D1SC = 925), flows 1200 cfm (D1SC=1400scfm), and both can generate a max boost of around 32psi. The D1 or D1SC are more efficient and can make real power on a more linear curve due to the impeller design. The real world max boost for the P1SC is near 15 psi and the D1/D1SC will go up to around 18. Unless you can handle the flow and the high boost, it is just $400 dollars spent!

Put the money in the Stage 2 kit. The 3-Row Intercooler is more a value in the kit than as an upgrade later (just look at the price difference in the HO vs Stage 2.

Also, understanf that ANY TUNER KIT will limit you on the warranty vs a System. RPM still uses the part number for the complete system, however they are clear and accurate by labeling their kit as a tuner. They only buy tuner packages and piece together the rest of the kit (Injectors, fuel pump, tune/tuner)

I have a Stage II P1SC running 10# boost. I am happy with it. The car has an auto and 3.90 gearing, and for me that is low enough.

Installing the system is really easy. THe hardest part is removing the front bumper cover to install the intercooler and tubing. The pic is what the worst looks like!

BayouMustang
