Premium Gas and Tune

I was watching the Mustang Challenge or something like that and one of the instructors was talking about the cars and what they did to them before the racers got their hands on the cars. The instructor said some things they changed and then he said " we flashed the cars for (premium fuel( i think) and we saw a 45HP increase on the DYNO". Last i checked changing fuel didn't increase the power by that much.

Does this sound right or am i missing something here? Thats an awesome increase that's for sure but i feel i must of heard him wrong? Someone chime in and correct me?

somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't a 93 octane tune just essentially advancing the timing to take advantage of the 93's better resistance to detonation? I know that generally advancing the timing will give you more power, but no way is that gonna give you anywhwere near 45 horsepower.

Maybe 45 crank hp?

I mena i could see about a 5-10 whp gain from sontething like that over the stock tune....

Remember SOME dynos can measure flywheel output, not wheel output
