Ford Racing

are various Ford Racing products any good? I see low prices on some stuff, and wonder if low price means less quality?

ford makes some cool stuff that u wouldnt think theyd make. they make a roots type supercharger for 4.6 2v motors. for about 3800 bucks u can put one on ur car. it was originally designed for 96-98 cars but can be bolted on a PI car just the same. theres a guy on another board that i go to has his for sale for like 2400 bucks complete. he got around 422 to the wheels with the blower and a few bolt ons. stock heads, stock exhaust...biggest mod was a set of stage two crower blower cams.

ford also sells cat backs for our cars...fairly cheap too.. u can plug in most any ford racing number in summitracing.net and get a cheaper price. thier cat back is 259. only thing that worries me about thiers is when the pipe joins the muffler it goes down to 2 inch pipe. is that like totally defeating the purpose of upgrading the exhaust?

FRPP stuff is generally awesome as mentioned above. Their exhaust stuff is weak though! Avoid their seats too (such as the ones on LateModelRestoration). You'll pay through the nose.

Gears though, FRPP 4.10's best gears around man! Their stuff is pretty good.

FRPP has the advatage of having all the exact specs, they don't have to reverse engineer anything. They also have access to production
issues nobody else would know about.

Exactly.

Hence. FRPP 4.10's ... IMHO beat Richmonds.

HA-HA it comes full circle! If I ever break my Richmonds I
might try a set. But for almost 30 years I've never had
a gear failure that wasn't caused by another problem.

Haha! Yes! Mach I knew I'd hear your 2 cents lol.

It's all good, if my FRPPs ever give me crap, I'll be a square gentlemen and try some Richmonds in my GT.

Haha. Why would one want shorty headers anyway? The practical applications for them is lessened by alot once you get into the 99-04 stangs.

I'd avise LT headers, hook it up with an O/R X (If you think it's too raspy (lies!) then get an H) and then throw on a nice SLP LM Catback (blah blah, if thats too rice get a Magna or a Flowmaster)

Psssht. But this isn't an exhaust thread.

...There are just SOME things, which others can do better than Ford. Let's mark headers as one example. Rims as another.

I don't understand why someone would spend $270 on an FRPP catback when the SLP LMII isn't that much more in price.

I picked my LMII up from Lethalperformance.com for $460 I think. That's a hundred and some change over the FRPP. If I had a terminator the M55 from Ford or whatever it's called would be my choice over SLP though.

Sweet2K, I ran a King Cobra for some time in my 93GT and I liked it. Installation was smooth as well. What kind of problems did you have?

not to long after install the same shit as the factory clutch. it slipped damn near all the time, had different engagement points due to temps. had it in and out 6 times tryin to figure it out. most people dont have a problem but mine was a P.O.S. !!! flywheel was turned 3 different times thinking that it would eventually grab. now i got the spec stage 3 and not a damn problem, i love it!!!

That's strange that it wasn't engaging. Did you notice any areas burned on the KC when you pulled it out to put the Spec in?
