2002 GT Down to two exhaust set ups

2002 Automatic Convertable GT

1. Bassani mid length headers with Bassani X-pipe and Borla cat-back

2. FRPP Shorty header with Magnaflow X-pipe and Magnaflow cat-back Probably save $300 which I will be able to get pulleys with

Please help I want the grow at WOT but not the drone at 2000 RPM I do allot of interstate driving in a convertible.

There is a thread with all sorts of sound clips for exhaust set ups. Do a search for it. From your choices, I would go with #1, but I am partial to MAC, so I would do a full MAC set up.

i have the magnaflow catback and dont like it at all, its too quiet. I would go with the borla stingers they sound sick im getting them eventually.. There loud as shit when you get on it and dont have to much drone when cruising if i remember rite..

edit: but you cant go wrong with mac either they make very good products at a great price. I would get them over the magnaflows any day but not the stingers.. But thats just me lol

wow I think this is the 1st complaint that I've read about magnaflow. I have a magnaflow catback with an offroad h-pipe and love it. BTW completeexhaust.com can get you the catback for $359 shipped.

I had magnaflows and absolutely could not stand them.

I agree with red on this one. #1 with a bassani cat back.

was it too quiet for you to? I don't know if it's my setup or I'm just getting old but i love it. IMO it's kinda quiet at idle but gets loud and deep when you stand on it. This is the only setup that I've had on this motor so I can't compare it to others but here's my exhaust compliation

chambered exhausts will have more of a drone where as a straight through exhaust won't. Keep that in mind. I hated the drone from my MACs then when I got my magnapacks. I couldn't be happier...well I could, but not from a catback.

Go the Borla route. Magnaflow sounds nice and aggressive, but is QUIET. I'm not a quiet exhaust guy though. Bassani X + stingers = excellent, probably more so with headers.

I just don't like how they "normally" stick out so much, I shimmed mine so I could bring them in some.

That does sound sweet how bad is the drone on the interstate at 65-80 MPH? I do a lot of driving for hours at a time and have a vert.
