Cool you just need an adapter for the maf to hold a filter. ![]() Sometimes you can get a lightning or SCT 90 mm MAF with the adapter for a sweet deal. Right now you can get a lightning MAF with an adapter for 99 on Ebay shipped. The also have good deals on lightning MAF's with 42lb injectors. But I would suggest the SCT. It's about 100-150 more but you will probably never out grow it. If you want the KB then get it, but I would consider the KB tuner kit and then find your own MAF, injectors, fuel pump, and tuning solution. I'm not totally sure whats included with their tuner kit so do a little reasearch to see what's the best solution and the best price. It will probably save you money and give you better results. I would get a SCT 2600 MAF. Good for up to 650-700 RWHP when used with a drawl through set up which a KB is. 42's INJ. good for 500-550 rwhp or 60lb good for up to 650-700 rwhp. Then a SCT tuner of whatever tuning solution the shop where you intend to tune at feels most comfortable with. Regardless of how good KB tells you the tune is you need to at least get dynoed to verify that all your ducks are in a row. Then a 75 mm throttle body of your choice. I use a cheap Professional products TB and I have been happy with it.

My vortech would peg the hellout of a lightning MAF unless you buy 175 dollar extender. Then you might as well but the better maf on to begin with.

It would surprise me if it came with a chip because you couldn't flash it until you knew what maf injectors were going to be used.

If I would ever go to a KB it would have to be a 2.6 or bigger. But since I can upgrade to a T-trim for 500 and support 700+ HP or a YSI-trim for 2400 and support 1000+ HP I'll stick with vortech. That's why I went with Vortech. The Vortech entry level SC is cheap and it can support 600. It's was the cheapest to upgrade later compared to the other companies and known to be very dependable.

im goin with KB not so muc for the price as you can tell, but for the fact that they are very reputable, they sound amazing, and punch a lot of power out, but the way you speek, the vortech is very appealing because of price alone lol.

I would consider Kb for it's power band and they coolnes/sound. Just takes a bigger head unit. But for max power nothing beats a Turbo. Then a big Centrifuge. After that a big twin screw. If all 3 head units are the same size, pushing the same amount of boost, through similar combos. It would go like this Turbo>Centrifuge>Twin screw> Roots (Eaton). Turbo being the most efficient and roots being the least.

Nope. They use what's called a powerpipe/inlet pipe like a turbo.
Don't get me wrong KB is one hell of a product. I'm poor so I was looking for the best bang for the buck. I have often dreamed about a 2.8H. It can support up to 900 hp with instant power lol.

If you're sticking around 500rwhp as your max. I think you would be happier with a 2.l KB. But if you plan on making more. unless you want to buy a whole KB kit for around 5K it will cost a lot more later to upgrade. A Kb at the same HP level will have a better feeling of power. The one thing bad about Vortech is that the base kit is non intercooled. and the IC they offer is expensive, but good. But I have seen one car make 500 non intercooled since they make less heat. I built my own IC set up for 500. There's pros and cons with both just be sure to think of all the angles before making your purchase. If you go 2.6h you will not be disappointed.

But since you do not already have a SC. I would suggest a Paxton Novi 2000 tuner kit. It will support more than the T-trim. I doubt you'll ever out grow it and it works well around 400 rwhp too. Probably one of the best all around SC's on the market. I wish I would have known of it at first, 6 years ago. It's 3149 but it kicks ass. You still need support mods just like any other tuner kit but it's non intercooled. SuperchargersOnline.com :: Product: Paxton NOVI 2000 "TUNER" Supercharger Kit for 2001-2004 Ford Mustang with 4.6L (Satin) They also have a tuner kit for the novi 2000 with an intercooler for 4449. Cost a little bit more. I feel it's the best bang for the buck for anyone wanting to make big power later. SuperchargersOnline.com :: Product: Paxton NOVI 2000 "TUNER" Supercharger Kit with Air-to-Air Intercooler for 2001-2004 Ford Mustang with 4.6L (Satin). I would go with 60lb injectors for 600-650 hp. 72's for 700-800. Maf would be a slot/tonsil style maf from 05 GT and a mafia. Because I would push the air throught the maf not drawl it through like a twin screw usually uses. Vortech kits drawl through but I converted to a push through. It's just better for Centrifuge SC/Turbo set ups. I'm not sure if there's slotted type maf that will support 800rwhp without a mafia. This is a subject that I also need more info on.
