Yesterday morning someone tried to break into my mustang. They pulled the lock completely out of the door. amazingly they didnt dent or scratch it thank god. I need to get in there and put the lock back on. How do i do that? Door panel?

Yea take the door panel off. There is a metal clip that looks like a horse shoe that clips the lock cylinder in place. Shouldnt take you long at all to fix.

Chances are its gonna be laying in the bottom of your door. Its a thin wire shaped like a U with little funny curves on the end. If its not that design then its going to be a flat plate looking thing with a section cut out kind of like this ]

The way it works is the lock cylinder goes into the door from the outside. Then there is going to be a little slot/groove on the cylinder on the inside of the door panel the clip or plate will then slip into that groove holding it in place. Chances are its the design with the plate as the clip is usually used in cars where the lock cylinder is built into the door handle such as an f150. Speaking of that TONS of f150s get broken into this way. All you do is put a flat head in the lock cylinder, slam it in and push up and itll unlock the door.
