Question

cams and miles on car

Ok I have around 67k miles on my 2000 mustang gt.

Well Im looking at getting the Hi-tech Motorsports stage 2 cams N/A with also a port and polish. Is there anything else I should look at? I figured new valve springs maybe but Im not to bright with all this.

Would stage 2 cams be bad for a mustang with 67k miles?

What else should I look at getting?
I was looking at getting a Trick flow intake manifold(if worth it)
Upgrade the TB
Upgrade the Pulley system.

Im trying to achieve past 320rwhp

Mods done already are
MAC LT headers
LP X pipe
Pypes Violater exhaust
Diablo tune(which wiht the new cams im sure it get a new tune)
Steeda CAI

skip the manifold.. And yes your motor will be fine there are plenty of people running alot of power through these motors with much higher mileage.. And i would upgrade the valve springs, and look into the trick flow heads when they come out they will help you achieve your goal..

i would do heads and cams at once. Makes it a little easier, because you don't have to tear into the motor again.

no problem with that amount of miles, as long as you take care of your engine you will be fine,

Id skip on the manifold as well, the factory one isnt too bad at all. As for what else to get. Valve springs are definetly a good idea. Youre also going to need head gaskets/bolts and upper intake manifold gaskets in order to do the heads and while youre in there you might as replace the valve stem seals, front cover gaskets, and valve cover gaskets as theyre pretty cheap and can save some time/headache in the future. Also just as the guy above said it wont hurt anything with those miles as long as you keep things taken care of.

I'd strongly recommend doing the cooling mod when you pull the intake off!

Cooling mod??

Ok thanks Hopefully by next month I can start ordering in the parts.

I heard about the trick flow heads. any idea when they are going to be released? Whats the difference between them and the CNC stage 2 heads?

They FLOW ALOT better. The ported heads still have the flow issue and trickflows are completly redesigned. Until the TFS there were no aftermarket heads castings for 2v's. It should be a significant difference. And they are expected anywhere from March-May at most places

I consider 65k low miles! lol. Will be totally fine. And yeah upgrade the valve springs for sure. I would consider doing all this with a tb/plenum combo. Skip the manifold and save the money. I dont think you will hit 320 with p&p heads. Probably with the trick flow you will hit that easy though!

An over looked mod would be aluminum drive shaft, and an efficent water pump. (stewart or electric).

I meant to say that you will be over 300 though with p&p also.
