Cut FRPP C-Springs
Anyone know how much of a drop it is when you cut the dead coil out of the C-Springs? Pictures would help as well

if the springs are new, i suggest to install them and let them settle before you go off cutting the dead coil off. each set seems to settle differently.

The springs have been on the car for about a year. It barely even looks low to me.
![]() and sweetsktang, your rear is a coil cut C-springs, what are your fronts?

I cut a whole coil off the rears (mine were brand new) and left the fronts alone... with isos all the way around....
![]() i only owned the car about 3 more months after that and they had settled very little... here is a friend of mines with a pair of C's about 2 yrs old with all isos:

i have c-spings all the way around. the rears have the dead coil cut off, and have iso's all the way around as well. the front sits lower now that i have the k-member and cobra a-arms as well, it was almost as low when i was still on stock set up.
best pic i have right now of before the k: ![]() ![]() ![]() docs mach with c-springs:

Cutting springs is a bad idea for several reasons, IMO.
1. VERY, if not impossible, to know how much lower you will be. 2. Messes up the rate of progressive springs (and most are going to be progressive) 3. Spring won't fit properly into the perch. It certainly works to lower ride, but comfort and corner performance will suffer as a result. Just keep your ride no lower than 1.5" and accept it as pretty much optimal drop with all things considered. Jazzer |

itis perfectly fine to cut the rear dead coil off the frpp springs. the frpp springs have a dead coil on it to allow for modifaction just for this. they even send an instruction sheet showing how to do it. the dead coil will not effect any integrity of the spring.

the frpp springs are designed to be cut if desired.

correct, it's always been my understanding that uncut is for verts and cut is for coupes.
