No time better than the present. J/K If you do not plan on running sticky tires In my opinion I would not worry about it.

I was planning on getting some street radials in the future, should I worry about it then?

if you are going to run a sticky tire, and will be doing high rpm clutch dumps, better upgrade the axles and differential. you will be on borrowed time on the 28 spline stuff.

i still unfortunatly have 28 splines and ran out of money before i got the 31 set up. i have bolt ons and put on slicks and so far they have held up. but now i have the vitamin N2O and hope to have a 31 set up before the season starts. average people dont really need it but if a little abuse is in plans then its worth the $$$

just a note, when it's time don't forget some OE aplications have 31 spline carriers in 8.8 housings. If your up to the task you can save a few bucks for gas by putting hp clutch discs in those carriers then a set of good axles and your good to go.

thats right. you can use a 31 spline diff. from a f-150 and repack the clutches. im running the cobra t-lok and frpp axles with the frpp aluminum girdle and arp studs.
