14 inch coil over springs
Will 14 inch coil over springs still lower my GT? The rate is 325lbs if that helps

I have 14 inch springs on my GT with a Kmember. They will go pretty damn low. Mine are 175s, but here are some pics to show how low they can go. Its about 3/4 the way up the sleeve.
![]() and this was when they were just under half the way down ![]() You have alot of adjustibility. I dont know with that high of a spring rate, if it will drop it as much, but you should still be able to slam it.

Haha. you're the one that inspired me to go coil over Trevor. Reason why I got the 14s is because I saw your suspension list. I went with a high rate because my car is gonna be used more for the street rather than drag.
![]() Yea. I want about a 1.5 inch drop. Nothing too severe, so that's good news if yours is dropped that low. You pretty much answered my question with visual confirmation lol ![]() BTW, you gonna get a pair of those trick flow heads? It'll be interesting to see you hit 11s with an NA GT. That Silver is sick!

i am having rubbing issue on my drivers side inner fender, that is the only reason i am looking into going tubular a-arms/coil over. i have a qa1 k-member now with 03/04 cobra a-arms, i am hoping the new set up will get rid of that.

I heard that the bump steer kit can solve that rubbing issue. Best to get one to along with that coil over setup. Makes alignment a whole lot easier so they say.

Yea. The ideal I think is CC plates and Bumpsteer kit to get the best alignment. I also heard something about the Steeda X2 Ball joint kit as being useful for that application.

I was running 350# springs on my front CO's prior to going SLA. I wouldn't consider these a heavy spring for the '99~'04 GT Stang on the street. The ride quality was VERY near the stock Saleen set-up that was removed for the GR-40. I am not sure about the length, but 14" seems about right from what I recall.
My current SLA springs are probably around 300#~325# as they are just a bit softer than the CO's. HTH Jazzer ![]() Trevor, I would think you would be bottoming-out all over the place runnin' 175#ers. |
