my wishlist. give me some ideas!

i've had my '01 GT for about 2-3 weeks now and i absolutely love it. i'm thinking of more and more things i want to do with it though, to make it "mine." its 100% stock except an amp and a sub that i installed yesterday (thanks to Wraitherlx for all the help). this car is an everyday driver, so i dont want to make it into a race car or anything, just a few touches and mods here and there to make it "stand out"

heres what i have in mind so far:

Cold air intake, probably K&N or BBK.

Underdrive Pulleys,

Short throw shifter

tinted windows, (its a must on a black car)

paint brake calipers red

new tires, It has Falken tires on it now which are bald. what are some good tires?

sequencial turn signals, my family is into old Cougars so it would be a cool touch.

Roush gauges, i dont really like the red and green "christmas tree" looking instrument lights

thats about all i can think of right now.. what are some other things that could make my car stand out?

alright well stay away from the bbk intake, chrome intake does not make cold air, it actually gets hotter. go with a jlt rai or a k&n, go with steeda pulleys since they are not a piggy back style, which mean you are not attaching pulley to your crank pulley. I would get exhaust if you can, at least a cat-back, i don't know how anyone can stand the stock exhaust. And i would go with some nitto 555, good tires and not that expensive.

alright, i'll stay away from the chrome then. i'll most likely go with K&N. i know i will eventually do exhaust, but not right away. those red pulleys sound like a good idea, im gonna go with a red and black theme.

+1 I have the steeda UDP's they're awsome, i am now running a C&L MAF and CAI set up & it is bad ass! it really doesnt seem to heat soak at all like my last CAI. the nittos are the best DD tire setup that i have ran yet. cat back at least magnaflow, SLP are my favorites. T/B and plenum would also be a good investment, or at least P&P the stock. gears of course is a must for the kick.

+1 on SLP catback. Mangflows are a nice deeper sound if you go with that setup.

I'd say +1 on the gears and tuner. Go with 4.10's. It's one of those mods that you have to have and you'll def. feel.

Next to that, I'd advise an exhaust. Don't wait on it. Stock exhaust holds back your pony so much. Also cramps future expansion. What good is giving her some power if it's all lost in a poor exhaust?

Headers + O/R H + Catback (Flow or SLP <- My choice)

I have an '03 GT; to make it "mine," there was a Magnaflow catback exhaust, Diablosport Predator performance tune, K&N FIPK intake, UPR x-pipe, Accufab 75 mm throttle body & plenum, spacer, 3.73 gears, McLeod 800 series clutch, Steeda firewall /quadrant adjuster, Cobra polished aluminum wheels, Tri-Ax shifter, Momo leather, self-installed sound system & lotsa UPR billet stuff inside. Decide if you want performance, looks, sound or all three; then go for the best in every area. Even if it takes years - you'll love it.

Good advice, most people tackle the performance mods firts. Looks count too though, luckily in the stang owners case, our rides already look serious and sharp to begin with! Only room to improve.

I just went with exhaust because it frees up alot, plus... might aswell sound as vicious as you look!

The day I bought mine I ordered an American Thunder cat-back and a radar detector. The cat-back is on and sounds great, I'm still waiting on the UPS guy to deliver my radar detector.

ooh a radar detector. thats something i should invest in! thanks for all the ideas everyone, i think you are all right about the exhaust.. but i really dont need to make it that fast. i already have a fast car this is just my daily driver, and its got plenty of oomph to get me beyond the speed limit in short order. im thinking looks and sound right now. performance will come a little later on.

Also a set of gears would do wonders...

CJ just owned the post (which has already been owned).

Gears. Gears. Gears. Everyone doesn't just say Gears because it's fun to say. Seriously. Gah-Ears!

Also, a Radar Detector ::hmmm:: one of the ones with the thingy so the radar detector can't be detected (I forget what it's called, most have em) Yeah. I need one. It'd probably save me so much paranoia.
