230hp@5,600rpm, Torque: ft lbs 235@3600pm

so i think you would get him no problem if he is stock.
he will probably get you off the line though

WRX no problem i have a video somewhere in the multimedia section of my buddy in an 02 eclipse beating on one. the STI is a different story, ive raced one (cat back only) on the track and barely beat him. on a roll they usually run closer than i want them to.

Dude, auto? If you've got an auto you need to be running 4.10s and have your shift points firmed. Then the manual can laugh all it wants, when it's a car length behind. C'mon now.

BTW, you've got him. Been down this road, not an '06 though.

yea you'll take him...for sure...auto isnt a setback...its a guarantee...they are consistant and predictable...why u think most drag cars are auto.....you can count on a manual mishifting or overrevving once in a while

Autos might not be "as much fun" but, they are at a huge advantage when racing. Argue all you want, most drivers are not precise enough to make proper use of a manual. Hence most heavy duty racing vehicles.

You just need to feel out your auto, like I said, gears and a tuner (firm the shift points alot) really really help.

Also, on my other vehicle I have Manual Valve Bodies. Full manual shifting on the auto. It helps me out in race setting, but ... that creates the element of human error again which is what having an auto avoids.

Anyway, long story short: You'll own him.

not an STI keep in mind. the regular WRX isnt all that great of a car w/o mods. i havent lost to the ones ive raced yet but you will need to get a pretty good launch in any case.

You are going to lose from a stop. A roll, i still think you will lose. If it is a RS you will win but if its impreza. No chance, they still come from the factory tubo'd and AWD. Ive seen 5 spd cavaliers beat auto stangs. No offence, i love stangs but WRX's are fast STi or not. my buddy has one. Quick cars !
