Bad night

So I hit a curb last night... backwards and sidways. Need some suggestions as to what I'm going to need and where to get the parts from. The impact broke the right axle. It also destroyed the RR caliper and rotor. I know I'm going to need both right side wheels as well. So my question is, do you all think there could be more damage than whats visible and also if any of you have the stock wheels/axles off your car that you could sell me. I have looked through the classifieds on this site but havn't had much luck. Thanks

damn man that sucks. my buddy just did the same thing a few weeks ago. he got a new rotor from napa, and the axle he could only find at ford. the axle was 170$, rotor like 40$, used bullitt rim was like 130$ from a junk yard. a small shop charged him like 240$ in labor for everything, it was like a 500$ mistake. good luck man

Well I can do the labor myself, and I just found a set of used axles off craigslist that the guy wants $50 for. I donno what kind of shape they are in but i'll find out when I go to look at them i guess.

i say go 31 spline axles and get a nice set of Brembo rotors and HAWK pads. then if you have the spare cash, go for DD bullitts and 315's

There could very well be more damage with that kind of an impact.

You would probably want to take the differential apart, and make sure everything is all right in there. Ensure that there is nothing bent or damaged on the rear subframe. You say the front wheel hit as well. Then an alignment will be in order.

You will want to make a visual inspection to make sure that everything is ok with the strut tower, the spindle, and again, the subframe under the car. Look for small cracks in the windshield, and make sure there is not a kink in the roof. Do the doors still open and close as they did before? Or are they now slightly off kilter and/or out of alignment. Same goes for the front fenders. Are the gaps even on both sides, and the same as they were before? If any of those things are out of whack, that could indicate a bent frame under the car.

Everything you mentioned checks out. No cracks in the windshield, roof is not buckled in, gaps on the doors are still the same and they open and close just fine. The back hit the curb first and it snapped the axle right off and folded the wheel under that right rear of the car. I think that might be what saved me because the car just slid on the wheel from that point on.

I wish I had the funds available for that because it would be the perfect oportunity, however this hit me at the wrong time and i'm on a limited budget right now. My main goal here is to just get it drivable again.

Well this is good news.

So perhaps you just need to replace your axles, some minor hardware, and check everything in your dif out, and you will be good to go.

id be worried about the axle tubes themselves... if it broke the axle itself (which is one of the hardest parts in the rear) I'd be worried about the truness of the rear.

I really don't know honestly. The car spun around on me and everything just happened so fast. I would guess between 35 and 40.
