Root Supercharger on a 2002 GT

Ok, this is my first real post, but i have been idling here for some time now. I have an Extra root screw type supercharger that i would like to install on my 2002 GT, What is involved with it? My brother seems to think i will have to get computer work done to change the fuel racio and other stuff as well, can anyone enlighten me on this subject?

what kind of s/c? is it new or what did it come off of? need more info. yes programming will have to be done along with piping, intercooler, injectors, fuel pump, MAF, etc. if it is for a gt like yours then ok but if off another set up then probably going to be a big hassle

This is off the standard 03/04 cobra. It is your basic SVT Root Screw supercharger.

you can do it but it is really not worth it. you need 4v heads 4v intake...
you basically need a 4v motor to make it work right.

2k aint gonna cut it.

to make that blower work you are going to need an assload of custom work.
you would end up spending more than just buying a KB

just make sure you buy the right supercharger for your application, everyone keeps thinking they can put different motors and years superchargers on different cars, if a 03 cobra supercharger would work on 2V cars then everyone would be doing it.

yea i dont know what i feel like getting. Prochargers are nice too, but im looking for a supercharger that stands out on a stang, not one of those ones where you open the hood, and someone says, So...... Where is it?

if u supercharge that regular gt engine, be careful how much boost u run to it cuz those regular blocks wont handle the higher torque stresses as good as a cast iron cobra block would, it might would be better to just get a cobra engine complete or just a cobra block, oh yeah the internals of that gt engine would be at more risk of breaking from the stresses of being blown

tons of people blow gt's....there is nothing wrong with it. I've seen 500HP gt's that hold their own when used correctly....certainly 400hp will be fine if you drive it normal.

Dude I didn't say there was anything wrong with blowing a gt engine, I said they dont handle the increased stresses as good as a cast iron cobra block would, lol

The GT does have a cast iron block... the block will hold the power. It's the rods and pistons that wont...=/

Fortunately for the cobra, it has forged internals..=/
