wheel spacers?

i was looking into getting the 1 inch wheel spacers from americanmuscle. i have a 2000 gt. the wheels are the 17 inch aluminum ones. you can see they are in my avatar. well on the site it says will not fit factory wheels but i saw a picture of someone with factory chrome 6cylinder wheels. my question is if you guys think they will fit on my car. just dont wanna spend 100 bucks for nothing. 1in Billet Aluminum Wheel Spacers (Pair) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

thanks,
brant

Having wheel spacers, IMO, aren't really good. Yes they look good and help out but they can be disastrous.

I DO NOT recommend you run that type of spacer

I think they have the likelyhood of becomming loose, therefore am not a fan of them. You would also need to confirm that there is room within the back of wheel itself to accept the ends of existing lug-bolts. They will pass into the back of wheel, as they are longer than the spacer is thick. I run 1/2" spacers on my rears and have replaced lug-bolts with a longer/stronger set.

You can run them, but I would not.

Those spacers wont work with your rims. Your stock rims are hub centric and those spacers are smooth sided. They are NOT like the ones they show in the how-to video.

I'm a network engineer. One of our accounts is Bensalem school district so I go down there to work on their network sometimes.

nothing wrong with running them, they are fine. we ran some on the mach for a while, and i have installed many sets like that. they are a better spacer than a plate for the fact that the spacer itself is fastened and then the wheel fastens to them. the wheel you plan on running has to have area for the stock studs to pass thru.

I guess it's a hit or miss thing. I had a set on my GT and they broke kept coming loose. Then one time I was torquing a nut on and the stud broke.

I wanted to run em' on the Cobra til' I got new rims, but after I reminisce on what happened w/ the GT I don't know if I will

H&R spacers are pretty good. they work with my bullitts but not with my factory split spokes because there are no spaces for the stock studs as 2kstang said
