Ok, well since I work for Hitech and do most of the tuning, Ill answer what questions I can.

Jakashh, one of my customers on a highway trip from Minneapolis to Chicago got 24mpg in his 03 GT with 3.73 gears, bolts ons, long tubes, and Hitech Stage 2 cam shafts.. I have not had anyone report back noticable losses in fuel economy with the stage 2s at all when driven "normally."

Someone asked about blower cams. Yes we have a variety of blower cams for centrifugal blowers as well and KB/whipples. Below is a dyno graph of an 01 GT with the fallowing mods.

-DSS long block with ported heads
-Long tube headers
-P1SC (aprox 12#s boost)
-P51 intake
-AFM power pipe

The before run was with comp 270s, and the after run was with Hitech stage 2.5 blower cams. The car was fully tuned with both sets of cams, and timing was the same with both sets of cams as well.

[IMG][/IMG]

Someone else asked about if headers were needed, and how would the stage 2s react with stock manifolds.

Now I have personaly never done a 5speed car with stock manifolds and stage 2 cams. However I recently received a call from a customer with a 99-04 car (cant recall for sure) with bolt ons, stock manifolds x-pipe (do not know if off road of catted), that made 280rwhp, which through the stock manifolds I would quite impressed with.

I have personally done an 04 GT with JBA shorty headers, a catted x-pipe, pullies, plenum/tb, CAI and Hitech stage 2s that made 291rwhp 308rwtq.

Most of the cars done in house with long tube headers Hitech stage 2 cams, and full bolt ons (generally ran with a pro-chamber off-road) made 300-318rwhp (318rwhp being the best example that I have personally tuned in house).

Below is a post of an automatic GT. I dyno'd and tuned the car in 3 stages.

Stage 1. Off-road x-pipe, CAI, welded in flow master mufflers. Then custom tuned.

Stage 2. The same as stage # but with the addition of stage 2 camshafts and re-tuned.

Stage 3. The addition of long tube headers and prochamber off-road pipe and re-tuned.

As you can see the gains with the Stage 2 cams alone were quite good (37rwhp at peak) and 40+ at 5900rpm. Then with the addition of the long tube headers and the prochamber, the car really came alive, picking up power across the entire power curve for an additional making an additional 30rwhp peak over stage 2 cams alone, and 64rwhp!!! over the stock camshafts, stock manifolds and an off-road x-pipe.

[IMG][/IMG]

Feel free to ask me any other questions, I have quite a data base on cars we have tested with these cams, and our blower cams. I may not be able to match every possible combo but I can do my best to show you what I have.

I do notice that you do have a D1SC however. The graph I posted was a P1SC car, and believe me at those power levels the differance between a P1 and D1 even with compairable boost levels is NOT even compairable.

For example, below is a graph of an 03 Mach1 with a built bottom end, stock heads, crower cams. The before is with a P1SC making aprox 13#s (with a 3.0 pulley)boost, and the after is with a D1SC that made 14#s boost with a 3.4 pulley.

The GT who's dyno graph I posted for the cam compairison is coming back this spring upgraded to a D1SC, I will post the differance between on the P1 and the D1 on that combo as well when I can.

Now I may have been able to push a lil more power out of the P1 on that car, but I could not get anywhere remotely close to the 100+rwhp differance that was found when upgrading to the D1 at the same boost! Now this was a 4V car with a very agressive camshaft profile.

The dyno below is probably a better example of how the stage 2.5 hitech blower cams work with a D1SC.

Mods are:
-03 cobra short block
-Stoch heads
-Stock intake
-Long tubes with high flow cats
-75mm TB and plenum
-10% over drive crank
-3.4in blower pulley
-Hitech stage 2.5 blower cams

Car made aprox 15#s of boost at 6300rpm

Casey,
Do you have any dynographs of full bolton gt's with your stage 2 cams running nitrous? Ive heard that these cams love nitrous and ive been considering picking up a set of your cams just for this reason. Thanks

why does the d1 and p1 make a "HUGE" difference in the close to 500 range? If its the same boost then its the same boost huh? What makes them so completely different?

A smaller blower has to work harder to make the same boost. The downfall to a blower is that is uses horsepower to make horsepower. It is all about efficiency, take a turbo at 6 lbs and it will make more than the average blower at the same pressure or more in most cases. Boost is only a measure of resistance/pressure, a engine that breaths better will take less boost to make the same or more power.

I am not trying to lecture anyone rather trying to put things in understandable terms.

Engine A. (smaller blower) is going to makes more power at a lower rpm/boost than engine B. (larger blower). This is due to the larger blower using taking more power to make power. Engine B. makes more power at full boost due to two things, it doesn't work as hard and doesn't heat the inlet charge.

This is the easiest way I can describe it without getting to technical, reading it I feel like I am leaving something out. But i think I made my point understandable for the most part.

Here you go. 04 GT full bolt ons, long tubes, Hitech stage 2 cams, and NX with modified jet sizes to get 100rwhp out of the shot.
