Dyna-batt (Lightweight Battery)

So whats the deal with these? I've seen a few people mention them, but never any actual feedback.

Dry Cell Batteries

Weights just over 13 lbs, which means you shed almost 30 lbs . My only concern would be that it would become drained pretty fast, however I called them and they said it should last for over a week without charging, which is plenty for me. It will also be hooked up to a battery tender 99% of the time. Anybody have any experience with these?

Thanks

I think it would just be better to relocate your current battery to your trunk. That way you have a battery that will last, and it puts some extra weight in the rear end

I've had the Odyssey for about a year. Works great, no issues what so ever.
Sure.. if it sits for 2 weeks, it might get weak, but I've never had any issues. And, this is NOT my DD. It always sits for 3-4 days at a time. I also put a quick disconnect on it so if I'm not going to drive for 3-4 days, I sometimes unhook the terminal.

But I love mine!!!

And, I think it looks a hella lot better. I found the aluminum cover on ebay for like 35 bucks.

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I am still trying to decide which brand to go with. Have you heard anything about dyna-batt?

Also, it looks like you went with a PC680. Is this correct? Has not using a metal jacket cause any problems?

Yeah i had the pc680 with aluminum holder for it in my car for a little while. Just make sure you start the car pretty much every day so the battery doesn't die.

Depends on how you use your car... we talkin' DD or purpose specific like race. If a DD, and you live in an area that gets cold, the lack of CCA reserve may be more trouble than it is worth in weight savings... and if the car doesn't get driven for a weekend and you forget to "plug it in"...
What kind of added elec. goodies are present?
Race applications being different, may be worth shedding a little weight.

Basically weekend warrior, it will sit in the garage on the battery tender 99% of the time. However, I do want to make sure that if I decide to take it out for the night, and leave it parked somewhere that it will start say the next morning.

If you don't mind me asking, did you decide to go to a different battery or what?
