Engine Build

Well, I finally tore my motor apart. I've got the comp stage II cams on the way, and I'm taking my heads to be ported this afternoon. Also going back with new upper plenum/throttle body and cai. I'm throwing in some 4.10's while she's down too. I'm still debating on an intake. I've read terrible things about the typhoon, but also some good.
BTW: Are the underdrive pulleys worth the money while I'm in there?

Also: Has anyone ever done business with Dynospeed in Memphis?

yeah they quoted me one price and when it was done wind up chargin me like 300 more than orig. quoted. plus i think the chip they burnt went south on me right before my car got torn down. rather than pay to get another one i'm just waiting on the car to get dynoed again when the engine gets put in.

BB&T's doin it this time. their dyno has a 1/4 mile simulator on it.

Where is BB&T located?

Is it down there around the power plant on stateline?

if you plan on staying N/A for awhile, pullies are worth the money. have you checked out the P51 intake from fox lake? i have heard nothing but good things about their intake. a little pricey, but what intake isn't.

The P-51 is just a little to much for my money. I may just see how the stock intake does and go from there since it's not really hard to change anyway.

you really don't need an intake just yet anyway. those kinds of intakes pick up alot more power with a power adder. with the setup you are looking at with the cams and ported heads, an accufab T/B and plenum will do you just fine. you wouldn't get the bang for your buck right now. do you have full exhuast with L/T's?

Do I need to get aftermarket coil packs? Will they help out over 5500rpms? I'm just trying to make sure to get some good solid results.

i had a stock intake and a trickflow plenum with my procharger and it made 429rwhp before i put the headers and x-pipe on. but i never got it dynoed again after that,so i est. it made right around 450 on the ground with the stock intake and aftermarket plenum.

Do I need two sprocket retention bolts?? I have read that the holes in the comp cams are larger than factory. Do these come with the cam??
