houston performance... cams+install+tune=....

I just called houston performance in houston texas. For the s292 cams, installing them, and to tune the car would be an even 1000.00. That sounds like a good price to me. I was expecting it to be more than that. I know i need to change the springs also so add that but hell, Jivepepper did nothing but installed cams and he gained 80rwhp. And these have a killer lope to them as ive heard on youtube. Anyway, Doesnt that price sound good or is that normal? Will this be ok for a daily driver?

and i have long tubes going on and prochamber and catback and 75mm tb and plenum.

thats a great deal from them bro.. i had them put my cams in back in the day.. and yes you will gain around those number FYI i still have the stock valve springs too

yea dude shouldnt be a problem. i have had those cams with the stock valve springs for 3 years now

yea there blower cams but i ran them n/a for 2 years and still saw gains lol ... umm its been a while but i think the lift is 531 in/ex 292 duration in/ex and 114 lsa?

You didnt have any piston to valve issues with that lift? I thought the stock springs were tapped out at .500?

n/a about 25ish horse.. and the powerband was over a much broader range ( pulls all the way to redline) best mod i ever did
then when the blower went on it was a 70-80hp gain over stock

no head work at all

the stock lift is 531.. no issues until around a .550

so since im blown then i oughta see a decent gain from these cams. Well hell, i do believe i will be calling him tomorrow to set it all up. What would PandP the heads add to that you think unix?

it would add some $$ thats for sure but you will see good gains from it.. and if your going to port and polish the heads i would then recommend getting the new valve springs

yeah... it was 650 for PP here in town. I think i will leave it alone as im on the stock bottom end anyway. You are too huh unix? You ever get worried at 470rwhp?

yes the duration and the lobe seperation helps prevent loosing some of that boost to the exhaust valve

yes im on the stock bottom end and yes i freak out if my car isnt operating at 100% with no ticks,pops,hisses,squeals,vibrations,etc.. lol but ive always been that way
