2-3k for 330+? Might not happen if you want rwhp. If it is bone stock, get sub frame connectors for sure, that will help you and your car out a ton in the long run. Next people would probably side with me on the gears, decide between 3.73, 390 or 4.10. Try camping ebay for a good deal on any bolt on you might enjoy. If you can get a good deal on longtube headers + midpipe go for it (as long as you can get it installed at a good price) or just run with an off road x pipe. CAI, throttle body, and plenum are options for intake, don't get hopes up for any single one of those. Skip the manifold completely unless yours is broke. Control arms for the rear are not going to give you power, but something that shouldn't be over looked, same for a decent set of tires.

You are not likely going to have a mustang running on boost properly with just 3k. You can't really get away with forgetting the supporting mods for a SC, probably reaching well beyond your 3k limit.

you cant pull off boosted for 3k, might bet most parts for 3k, but excluding all parts for and related to getting boost, you will still need shit for traction, and a tune, and could easily spend 1k for that.

Sure, and make sure you have every bolt and whatnot. Cant add air without fuel, few 100 to the fuel system, need a tuner for the tune, get one cheap for a couple 100, and that much more for a tune, with all that power you will really need better tires, some nittos for 180 each aren't a bad buy, LCAs/subframe connectors (at minimum) few 100 more, oh, and don't forget the gear you will encourage him to have, thats probably 500 or so, maybe more for labor. What did I forget? Oh yeah, labor, some of that can be done on your own, but most will probably end up with you paying someone else to do it. And all of that does not include any of the normal bolt ons, with a SC, you may want a maf/throttle body/plenum, and of course for your own ears if anything, some exhaust work.

My advice would be to nickel and dime it, throw on one bolt on, then the next. If you are unsure of your end goals, you may find yourself happy with a basic bolt on gt. Down the road you may want more, you may decide you are willing to be a bit more serious, and when that time comes, you will already be covered with the basic shit you would probably end up doing anyway. Hell, if you don't always need a fast car, lets not throw out doing minimal basics, and a 100 shot. Spending 3k for exhaust, tires/suspension, shot and a tune doesn't sound unreasonable, after that you can poke at it as needed.
