throw some 4.10 gears in the rear and then go on to finish the exhaust (x-pipe and catback)

If you get gears don't you have to get a tuner too?

you don't have to have a tuner for gears at all, all the tuner would do was fix your speedo, you can buy a speed cal to do that.

the tuner right now really isn't going to give him much for the money. maybe after doing heads/cams etc, then it would play a bigger part. for now, full exhuast, heads/cams, T/B, Plenum, Under drive pullies will get you started.

he said he had headERS. gears, mid pipe, and cat back is a good route.

Gears def.
If he furthur mods a tuner will be a big thing, if you bundle gears and a tuner it's a good deal. If he just gets gears purchased and installed at a local shop ( cheaper that way) and then he just has his speedo adjusted with a speedo cal (99 vs the 399 for the tuner) he'll be set. Hands down though, Headers, Mid Pipe (x), and a catback (I like SLP LM's, some don't, all a matter of opinion: check www.mustangexhaust.com for sound clips of different setups) and some Gears. Best route for him.

A catback sport exhaust. Flowmaster, Loud Mouth, Bassani, Borla...etc. I think these cars shouldve come factory made with better exhausts.
